First of all, congrats must be stated for our little guys the Walled Lake Raiders. The had a great season 5-2-1. When Coach Sabra asked the boys if they wanted to go to the playoffs, what do you think they said?
Playoffs were today. Today in the wind, rain, and yes, sometimes very wet snow. The first game was played on the astro turf. It wasn't the best circumstances, rain and snow pelting us in every direction but we won so that made it all okay. We had about 1 hour between games and then it was off to game 2, not on the astro turf but on the soccer field which had now turn into a pig's bathtub. Again, us parents stood, umbrellas open, hats and gloves on. But this time, our pants were soaked to the bone, the gloves were now wet and a chill had set into our bodies that we couldn't shake off.
But, being the dedicated parents we are, we stayed and watched and cheered and supported. Unfortunately, we lost both wars, the game and with the elements. The boys were crushed. All I can say is, "Chin up, Raiders! Tomorrow is a different day and you will do better, dudes!"

The sacrifices we make as parents! You would not have missed those games for the world--thats one of the best things about being moms and dads! Ben, your team did great! You should be a proud Raider!
Ben, I see you in the pro's.
